Smuggler's Inn Radio
Smuggler's Inn Radio Red Rack'em burst onto the scene in 2004 with their remake of 'I'm Not Feeling You' by Yvette Michelle which had DJs wetting their pants everywhere - Fat City described it as "The best remake in recent memory". Since then they've 'worked' with Missy, Busta, Guru, Tweet, Ty, Nas and many more on their voyage of audio plunder. There has been 5 chapters of The Smugglers Inn series so far and they have been awarded record of the week at both Piccadilly and Fat City several times for different titles. The label is proud of the continued support from the likes of the Nextmen, Kid Sublime, Yam Who, Diesler, Swag and the Unabombers. The disco re-edit sister label Rack'em Up has been a similiar success story with DJ support from the Idjut Boys, Jazztronik, Rune Lindbaek, Unabombers and even some chap called Carl Craig. Red Rack'em also produces disco as Hot Coins and dubstep as Marlinspike. You can check out some of his production here - http://www.myspace.com/redrackem The Smugglers Inn Radio show was borne through Rack'ems many guest mixes on www.myhouse-yourhouse.net. The station founder Alex Traska offered Red his own show and the eclectic bi-weekly session began in early 2007. Expect to hear the finest in wonky hip hop, smacky disco, mashed out detroit isht, tuff bruk, jazzy stuff, proper house music, dubstep, electronic and more. Rack'em will be droping plenty of his own productions and also digging deep into his case of CDRs from some of the dopest beatmakers on the high seas....
