Off Limits Radio show no. 52

Off Limits
with Raggy (contact him at raggy@offlimitsradio.com)
(UK)

Born and bred in South London in 1968, Raggy got hooked into the Jazz scene in the early eighties listening to radio stations like Radio Invicta, BBC Radio London, Solar, Horizon, LWR, KJazz and Kiss.

Desperate to collect and find the records that were changing his life, Raggy squandered every available penny on jazz & soul cut-outs and 12" singles wherever possible. His enthusiasm and love for all things jazz from the early eighties took him into 1992 when he was introduced to the dangerously expensive and underground world of the 'jazz record dealer'. Armed with an arsenal of all the very best worldwide record dealers and his unrestricted jazz knowledge this enabled him to continue to search out those elusive, obscure rarities to add to the collection. Raggy’s ‘Golden Ears’ are continually searching for the underground music of the future and is consistently becoming a respected tastemaker for the next generation of music lovers.

After a few years of weekly radio shows on the world famous original Solar Radio and also www.soul24-7.com, the new spot for the ‘Off Limits’ show is on www.danceandsoul.com and is used as the focus to continue to play, with passion and energy, everything from left of centre 60’s & 70’s souljazz, new jazz, downtempo breaks and obscure Brazilian bossa’s to offbeat folk funk. And if that’s not enough, Raggy also writes regular LP reviews for the leading global music magazine Straight No Chaser.

Exclusive features on the ‘Off Limits’ radio show include very special guests in the mix. We’ve also been lucky enough to get the people behind the music that’s making the ‘Off Limits’ radio show such a success to broadcast exclusive live mixes and mixtapes of their diverse musical influences. Getting deep into the record collections behind the artists, record labels and music makers such as Dan 'Broadway Project' Berridge, Rima (Compost Records), Alex Attias, Tom Wieland (Les Gammas), James Dean aka Lost Idol, Tom Tyler, Position Normal, Daedulus from San Francisco, Floris via Holland, Hint (Ninja Tunes), Beanfield (Compost Records), Gillespie from Paris and Xploding Plastix from Norway just to name a few...

It’s all good and it’s all jazz. Tune in, turn the lights down low and the volume up... and spread the word...
