Over the years, DJ Small has built up a musical style that can be best described as deep, soulful, funky and refreshingly energetic. In 1985, dj small started out as a mobile disco DJ, playing at different functions such as dinner & dance, graduation day, prom nite, jam & hop, christmas and new year's eve countdown, before moving into the club circuit. Starting out his club residency at the warehouse disco in 1990, DJ small went on to play at Hard Rock Cafe (Singapore, Malaysia and China ), Amoeba, Milk bar, H'uu bar, Fluid and others with him being voted one of the top 10 djs in singapore in 1990. In October 2002, DJ Small won Heineken’s Found@Thirst DJ competition in Singapore, which earned him the privilege of playing with Paul Oakenfold at the main Thirst event, and he was also the opening act for the global superstar DJ at the same event in Hong Kong. From then on, this DJ with a small frame proved that he was anything but. Now DJ Small is the resident of Re:fuge, the new Wednesday offering at Rouge - an up and coming club in Singapore that has hosted class acts like Jojo Flores and DJ Smash. A sweet wrap up to the whirlwind of a decade he's spent DJ-ing but by no means the end. He's recently launched his mix CD "Hedlite", in collaboration with local artistes Ry and Kadis and He's also received an encouraging share of accolades from his win at the Heineken Found@Thirst DJ competition in 2002, an opportunity which opened residencies for him at subsequent Heineken Music concerts, like Joeseph Malik and the Bobby Hughes Combination.
